About NUE People Place Spaces

People Place Spaces is a cultural placemaking initiative that transforms towns and cities through the power of the arts, heritage, and creative expression. We turn public spaces into vibrant hubs of community pride by uncovering and celebrating the untold stories that shape our local identity.

Rooted in storytelling, we explore everything from family histories and community heritage to bold visions of what people, places, and spaces could become in the next five years. Through immersive events and striking installations, we breathe life into high streets, parks, buildings, and public squares—turning them into living canvases of culture and connection.

Our Mission

We reconnect people with place by fusing public art, music, fashion, design, and storytelling. Working with a diverse network of artists, performers, designers, and community voices, we co-create inclusive, impactful experiences that ignite imagination and foster a deep sense of belonging.

What We Aim to Achieve

Through cultural engagement and creative placemaking, we aim to:

  • Revitalise & beautify urban spaces and high streets based on heritage stories and the stories of tomorrow
  • Inspire local pride and community cohesion
  • Reduce anti-social behaviour through the arts, bring back pride of place
  • Celebrate both the heritage and future of our shared spaces

From large-scale murals and immersive light installations to fashion-led performances and soundscape storytelling, People Place Spaces is redefining urban regeneration—placing creativity at the heart of social and economic renewal.

Funded through Public Private Partnership
